East Hills Medical Centre provides general practice consultations at Shop 1, 17 Maclaurin Avenue, East Hills, two minutes' walk from East Hills station. Three GPs consult across Monday to Friday and Sunday mornings, and appointments can be booked online through HotDoc or by calling (02) 9773 3676. The practice is mixed billing: children aged 18 and under, pensioners, Health Care Card holders and DVA card holders are bulk billed on weekdays, and other patients pay a $33 gap on a standard consultation after the Medicare rebate. A standard consultation covers one or two concerns; book a long consultation if you have several issues, are a new patient, or need a care plan. Telehealth phone consultations are available to patients seen in the practice within the last 12 months. The practice is AGPAL accredited and independently owned by its doctors.
What a GP appointment covers
Your GP is the first point of contact for new symptoms, ongoing conditions, prescriptions, referrals to specialists, pathology and imaging requests, medical certificates, and preventive checks. Continuity matters: seeing the same doctor over time means fewer repeated histories and earlier recognition of change.

Choosing the right appointment length
A standard consultation suits one or two straightforward concerns. Choose a long consultation if you are a new patient, have more than two issues, need a care plan or mental health treatment plan, or expect a procedure. Complex consultations are for detailed reviews of several long-term conditions. Reception can help you pick when you call, and the fee for each length is published on the fees page.
Same-day and urgent care
If you need to be seen today, phone the practice when it opens; reception holds appointments for acute illness. For chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding or a suspected stroke call 000. Outside opening hours, 13SICK National Home Doctor (13 7425) provides bulk-billed home visits for Medicare and DVA card holders, and Bankstown and Liverpool hospitals have 24-hour emergency departments.
Results, scripts and referrals
Results are reviewed by your doctor. If follow-up is needed you will receive a message asking you to book. Repeat scripts and referrals need an appointment so the doctor can check your treatment is still right for you; existing patients can also request repeats through HotDoc.
Questions patients ask
Do I need to be an existing patient to book?
No. New patients are welcome and can book online or by phone. Please book a long consultation for a first visit and bring your Medicare card, any concession or DVA card, and a list of current medications.
Can I see a female GP?
Yes. Dr Robyn White and Dr Uthpala Senaviratne are both female GPs and can be selected when booking online.
Is the practice taking walk-ins?
Appointments are preferred so you are not kept waiting. If you have an urgent problem, phone first and reception will fit you in on the day where possible.
Which doctor should I see for a DVA matter?
Dr Sajid Siddiqi, who worked as a Senior Medical Officer with the Australian Defence Force for seven years, completes DVA claims and permanent impairment assessments. See the veterans page for details.
