Pre-employment medicals
Pre-employment and periodic medicals for employers: drug and alcohol screening, audiometry, spirometry, vision, ECG, strength and range of motion.

East Hills Medical Centre provides pre-employment, periodic and fitness-for-work medical assessments for employers and job applicants at 17 Maclaurin Avenue, East Hills, near the M5 and East Hills station. Assessments are tailored to the role and can include a medical history and examination, urine drug and alcohol screening, audiometry (hearing), vision testing, spirometry (lung function), blood pressure, body mass index, urinalysis, electrocardiogram, and strength and joint range-of-motion testing. Reports are returned to the employer promptly with the applicant's consent. Commercial driver, rail safety and diving medicals can be discussed at booking. Pre-employment medicals are not covered by Medicare; the fee depends on the components required and is quoted in advance so employers can budget per candidate. Employers can arrange bookings for their candidates by calling (02) 9773 3676, and individual applicants can book directly. Bring photo identification, glasses if worn, and any employer paperwork.

Questions patients ask
How long does a pre-employment medical take?
Between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the components. Drug screening and audiometry add time, so tell reception which tests are needed when you book.
Is a pre-employment medical covered by Medicare?
No. It is a private service paid by the employer or applicant at the time of the appointment. The fee is quoted in advance.
Can the report go straight to my employer?
Yes, with your written consent, which is collected at the appointment.
